WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
VetCE Live is all about creating a unique experience for the veterinary community—different from those huge events in big cities. VetCE Mesa is a focused, two-day conference and trade show at the Mesa Convention Center, just a quick 30-minute drive from Phoenix. With limited registration, this event gives you the chance to connect on a more personal level with experts, peers, and exhibitors. For exhibitors, it’s a great opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with the professionals who matter most.

Heidi Reuss-Lamky

Surgery Technician, Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians
Ms. Heidi Reuss-Lamky graduated from Michigan State University’s Veterinary Technology Program in 1984. She has extensive experience in general practice, and has devoted her technical expertise to the surgical department of specialty hospitals since 1993. She has been affiliated with Oakland Veterinary Referral Services in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, since 2006.
Heidi became certified through the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2003, and sat on the credentials committee from 2005 to 2009. She was also a charter member of the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians, and currently sits on the executive board. Heidi also has a special interest in veterinary behavior medicine and achieved Fear Free Elite status in 2020, as well as a Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional Certification in 2021.
Heidi served in the president’s role on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians from 2007 to 2009. She was a member of the editorial review board for Today’s Veterinary Nurse Journal from 2015 to 2020, and served as a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Specialties from 2011 to 2022. Heidi is an ardent advocate for the veterinary technology profession, and serves as a consultant for several allied veterinary companies.
Heidi is a prolific author and lecturer, presenting anesthesia, surgical nursing, surgical instrument sterilization, and Fear Free related topics at veterinary meetings worldwide. She most recently published “Wound Management for Veterinary Technicians,” in the American Animal Hospital Association’s Trends® Magazine, (June 2022), and was the author of Chapter 22: “Disinfection and Sterilization in Veterinary Health Care Facilities, in Veterinary Technician and Nurse’s Daily Reference Guide, edited by Mandy Fults & Kenichiro Yagi, which was published in August 2022. She was honored to receive the 2025 VMX Dr. Earl H. Rippie Veterinary Nurse Leadership Scholarship.
Heidi currently shares her home with her husband, Bryan, and 2 dogs, 2 cats, and pond koi. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, gardening, travel, lecturing, and quenching her never-ending thirst for knowledge.
