This presentation will discuss recent advances in testing and treating mast cell disease as well as a review. Mast cell tumors can be challenging to treat. There are many new options available making it difficult to keep up with the current trends and to know what to do next. Pet owners have many questions and not all have the same goals for the treatment of their pet. This talk focuses on what the primary veterinarian can do from understanding pathology reports and testing to treatments with injectable drugs like Stelfonta and surgery. We will also review prognosis and survival time with the various types of mast cell tumors and treatment pursued.
