Diagnosis and treatment of the itchy dog

While allergies are one of the most common causes of itch in dogs, we want to take a thorough approach to making sure that ectoparasites and infections are controlled prior to moving forward with a diet trial or long term management of allergies. In this seminar, we will talk about a simplified way to work up the itchy dog which we can share with our clients. We want to let them know we will partner with them to help their dog look and feel better, but that it will take some time. Itch is not a disease, it is a sign accompanying many disease. Client communication is key so that we do not lose the bond between our veterinary teams, our patients, and our clients.
