The use of compounded medications is often necessary in veterinary medicine. However, the regulations governing the art of compounding are unclear and frequently changing. When this is combined with the profit potential of compounding, there ends up being several interpretations given to veterinarians. The result is that veterinarians are left to sort through the often conflicting information to select appropriate compounds and guide clients to high quality pharmacies. This session is designed to address the common questions veterinarians encounter within this process. During this hour-long CE, five common FAQs will be covered. For each question, a short answer will be provided, followed by the reasoning behind the answer and then a final recommendation of how to handle the question in practice.
